Easyjet passengers could be heard singing “cheerio” after a couple were kicked off their flight following a heated argument. The plane was travelling from Glasgow to Egypt when it was forced to divert via Heraklion in Greece due to the couple’s rowdy behaviour.

The pair got into an argument with fellow passengers after the plane had left the Scottish airport and had flown over Greece before circling back to drop the couple off.

At first passengers became disgruntled at the layover but when they saw why the plane was stopping they quickly broke out into cheers before most of the cabin launched into chants of ‘cheerio!’ and started clapping officers who escorted the couple off the flight.

Michael McLennan, a British holidaymaker told the Mirror: “It was awful. They were arguing with other passengers for half an hour before the crew stepped in.
