TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — At 96 years old, Jack Adler is still full of life.
“I had a check up and the doctor, who is one of the finest medical doctors in the United States gave me some good news. He said I’m going to live until I die,” he said.
But life hasn’t always been easy for Adler, who is a Holocaust survivor. “Humanity has been killing each other for centuries,” he said.
Adler was born in Poland, lived in two ghettos, and suffered through three concentration camps.
His mother and three siblings died during the Holocaust. On Friday, Adler shared his story at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.
“One day there will be no more survivors left, but what we will be able to say is I heard Jack Adler’s story and so many other individual stories directly from their mouth,” said Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein.
