BBC’s Blue Lights aired its fourth episode of the second series on Monday evening (May 6) and just minutes into the show, viewers complained that they were getting “mixed up” with another fan favourite – The Responder.

Many people watching at home thought that the crime drama had a similar storyline to its rival show, with them both following detectives and police officers carrying out their jobs. According to fans, the only differences were one being set in Belfast and the other in Liverpool.

Posting on Twitter, one social media user complained: “#BlueLights now I’m getting mixed up between the plots of this and #TheResponder.” Someone replied to the comment saying: “Me too”.

A third Twitter user said: “They’re the same except we’ve Frank Mitchell #TheResponder #bluelights.” Another added: “Where would I rather live Belfast or Liverpool? #bluelights #TheResponder”
