Donald Trump tore into the annual dinner where journalists in Washington, D.C. gather with celebrities and White House staff for a night of comedy, awards and camaraderie.
The former president said the dinner this year, which aired live on C-SPAN, was ‘really bad’ and claims President Joe Biden‘s remarks were ‘an absolute disaster.’
Trump, 77, has a long history with the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. He decided to skip the event when he was president and his relationship with mainstream media outlets and journalists soured.
In 2011, Trump attended the dinner and was famously roasted by then-President Barack Obama about his role on reality TV show The Apprentice. Many believe the incident helped contribute to Trump deciding to run for president in 2016.
