Borussia Dortmund are facing something of a win-win situation in the Champions League final, with the German giants set for a big payday even if they are beaten by Real Madrid.
Edin Terzic’s side progressed to next month’s showpiece at Wembley courtesy of a 2-0 aggregate win over Paris Saint-Germain, with Mats Hummels heading Dortmund ahead on the night as PSG hit the woodwork four times.
A day later, Real Madrid booked their place in the final thanks to an even more dramatic 4-3 victory over Bayern Munich – who for a long time looked as though they would progress.
The Bavarians were leading up until the 88th minute before substitute Joselu netted twice in the space of three minutes to send Bayern crashing out – though the match was not without controversy.
Real and Dortmund will now meet at Wembley on June 1, with the match seeing Jude Bellingham come up against his old club for the first time.
