The FTSE 100 notched up yet another record as trading got underway on Thursday.
ITV was among the day’s big reporters, with news that streaming hours jumped over the first quarter sending shares higher.
BAE Systems also budged up early on, after noting it was on course to hit full-year guidance and that increased US and UK defence spending would fuel future momentum.
Also rising was Watches of Switzerland, which unveiled the US$130 million acquisition of Roberto Coin in a move into the luxury jewellery sector.
Hipgnosis Song Fund took a hit in the meantime, as Concord said an offer to buy the firm would not be increased, leaving the door open for Blackstone to win the bidding war.
And elsewhere, Light Science Technologies jumped on a distribution agreement for its nurturGROW lights in South Africa.
