House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good is in a fierce battle for re-election with an opponent gaining traction among members of Congress on a ‘revenge tour’ to get him out of office.
Rep. Good (R-Va.) was one of the Republicans who voted to remove House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in October – and he is now facing opposition from members of the GOP who disagreed with removing the former speaker.
John McGuire, meanwhile, is gunning for Good’s seat and has earned the backing of some high-profile lawmakers in Congress including Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Good claims, however, it isn’t necessarily a positive thing to have more support from the ‘swamp’ than those in the district and highlighted a lengthy list of his backers in Virginia‘s 5th district.
