Tyler Witmer bagged four goals and Mitch Walters checked in with a pair as the Professional Arena Soccer League’s Harrisburg Heat held off amateur Real Harrisburg 11-8 in an indoor Open Cup game Friday night at Sports City.
The Heat sported a 9-5 lead after three quarters, but Real rattled off three consecutive scores to pull within one score. Finishes from Witmer and Tom Mellor, however, enabled the Heat to pull away and polish off the victory.
Justin Johnson recorded the victory in goal for the Heat — Johnson starred at Central Dauphin High School — which rested a handful of regulars.
Seth Lehman and Matt Sourbeer netted two scores apiece for Real. Lehman, a Northern grad, is the girls’ soccer coach at Cumberland Valley. Sourbeer, like Johnson, is a former CD standout.
