A BOMB threat that caused the evacuation of Helen McEntee’s family home has been branded “a new low in politics”.
Gardai have launched a major probe after the threats were made in two late-night phone calls during the week.
Justice Minister McEntee was not at home when the warnings were made but her husband and two young children were.
Members of the Garda Special Detective Unit raced to her Meath pad on Wednesday night.
The threats — made by a man believed to be in the Cork area — led cops to rush the Minister’s husband and kids from the home.
Gardai are treating the alert with the “utmost seriousness”.
It is understood that no arrests have yet been made.
