ISRAEL’S Eurovision singer Eden Golan has been ordered to stay in her hotel room after thousands of pro-Palestine protesters gathered in Malmo.
Sweden’s third largest city was flooded with demonstrators waving Palestinian flags on Thursday to protest Israel’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest this week.
Golan, 20, is due to perform at the second semi-final of the competition later this evening but was ordered to stay in her hotel room by Israel’s national security agency Shin Bet.
It was reported earlier that Shin Bet had warned the young singer not to step outside the vicinity except for performances over safety fears.
