A woman from Jersey Shore is proving you’re never too old to keep doing what you love.
JERSEY SHORE, Pa. — Nancy Yaudes took attendance during a German class at Jersey Shore Area High School on Friday. Yaudes is a substitute teacher and a familiar face around the school.
“Every time I see her, I know stuff is going to get done. There’s not going to be a racket in the back of the classroom,” said freshman Gage Watkins.
Earlier this month, Yaudes celebrated a milestone birthday. She turned 90, and she’s still teaching. She’s been part of the Jersey Shore Area School district for more than 60 years—first as a student and then as a guidance counselor, starting in 1975.
“Till 1995, and then I started subbing right away,” Yaudes said.
Yaudes put her name on the substitute teacher list in 1995 and hasn’t stopped since. She’s there almost every day.
