STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — As the season shifts into the latter half of spring, and the temperatures gradually increase, one can’t help but think about the pool, Italian ices and everything nice that comes with summer.
In looking at a recently updated outlook by the National Weather Service’s (NWS) Climate Prediction Center, the stretch of May, June and July will likely feature above-average temperatures and precipitation.
Recently, an outlook posted in March by the NWS called for such enhanced climatological conditions. However, this most recent outlook issued on April 18 reinforces the notion that the upcoming summer in New York could be even hotter than usual.
