WINNIPEG Jets star Vladislav Namestnikov had to leave the ice after taking a thunderous shot to his head in Game 4 of the first-round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche.
The Jets center collapsed after being struck by the puck in the third period on Sunday.
Namestnikov, 31, hopped in an attempt to dodge the high-speed slapshot, fired by Avalanche defenseman Nate Schmidt.
But the Russian failed to get out of the way and the puck appeared to hit him in the face.
The Jets star spent almost a minute on the ice as medical staff rushed on to tend to him.
