Official Study Finds Processed Foods Cause Dementia, Alzheimers [Video]

Scientists have warned that diets high in processed foods are associated with an increased risk of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia, as well as cognitive decline and cognitive impairment.

Ultra-processed foods are usually high in unhealthy fats, salt, added sugar or artificial sweeteners, like sucralose and aspartame.

They usually contain artificial additives and preservatives. These fake foods lack essential nutrients and fiber, which are important for brain health.

The Defender reports: A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fats has been associated with a reduced risk of dementia.

Some studies suggest that a diet high in ultra-processed foods may indirectly contribute to dementia risk by promoting chronic conditions such as obesitydiabetes and hypertension, which are known risk factors for cognitive decline.
