Prosciutto recall: Product made in Germany recalled in Texas [Video]

A New Jersey-based firm recently recalled 85,984 pounds of the ready-to-eat product.

The prosciutto was shipped to multiple retail stores in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

The USDA said they were notified that nearly 86,000 pounds were not properly inspected before being exported to the U.S. for distribution. Thankfully, no adverse reactions to eating the prosciutto have been reported.

A list of affected lots is available on the USDA’s website and consumers are urged not to eat it. If you’ve purchased the recalled prosciutto, you’re urged to throw it away or return it to where it was purchased for a refund.

The USDA also said if you’re concerned about a reaction to the prosciutto, to contact your health care provider.
