PUBS will stay open until 1am on match days if England or Scotland reach the semi-finals of the Euros this summer.
Home Secretary James Cleverly had hinted at the move on our politics show Never Mind The Ballots last week.
He is now pressing ahead with the plans, which will give fans an extra two hours of boozing should one or both teams reach the semis or the final in Germany.
The Euro semi-finals are scheduled for Monday July 9 and Tuesday July 10.
The final will be held on Sunday July 14 at the 100,000 seater Olympiastadion in Berlin.
