On Monday, April 29, Reeves lay in state at Lawrence Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
MOULTON, Ala. — A World War II Soldier is back home in Lawrence County, more than seven decades after being killed in action in 1944 in the Netherlands. Noah C. Reeves, who was 25 years old at the time of his death, served as a forward scout and was listed as missing in action following his demise.
According to the U.S. Army, Reeves remains were flown from Kansas and arrived at Birmingham Airport on Thursday at 5 p.m. On April 25, an honor guard from American Legion Post 25 in Moulton and American Legion Post 15 in Decatur paid tribute on the tarmac at the Birmingham airport. A motorcade of veterans accompanied the hearse as it departed from Birmingham Airport, traveling first on Highway 20, then continuing onto Highway 65 northbound, ultimately arriving in Moulton at Lawrence Funeral Home.
