NIALL MURPHY has his heart set on Tailteann Cup glory — after it was broken by a cruel Connacht semi-final defeat against Galway.
Sligo were on the cusp of causing a monumental upset until Rob Finnerty’s stoppage-time goal rescued the 2022 All-Ireland runners-up.
As well as a return to the provincial decider, victory would have secured Sligo Sam Maguire football for the second year on the spin.
Instead, their next assignment is Saturday’s Group B opener in the second-tier competition against Wexford at Markievicz Park.
